“I believe that representatives should be chosen ’by the people,’ not a small group that works the system to their advantage”

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my website.  I decided to run for political office for three reasons.

1 - My wife and I had to sit down a few months ago to decide what we would do financially if she were to lose her job as a teacher’s aid at South Jordan Middle School.   This led me to investigate why the Jordan School District was having problems to begin with.   What I found was that the state legislature gave approval for the Canyon’s School district to be created.  (at the expense of those on the west side of the valley.

2 - I was already disappointed in the recent news that the Utah Senate and House majority leadership  were seeming living duplicitous lives in order to maintain support of those they seemingly represented.

3 - The Republican candidate was going to be unopposed in the general election, where the ‘real’ election would be held during the ‘closed’ primary, or even worse, during the GOP county convention where less than 100 people could have decided who would be our next representative!

When I announced that I decided to run for office, I was surprised when found that people I knew where more interested in why I was a Utah Democrat than where I stood on the issues.  The short answer is that approximately 10 years ago I decided that the majority party here in Utah didn’t necessarily represent the majority of Utahns, but was rather a party with a narrow focus where people were not readily accepted into the party.  See my ’Experience’ page for a more detailed history of political background.

Why am I a Utah Democrat you ask?

I’d be glad to chat further to answer any questions about me and or the campaign.
